These large salt lakes are about 32km south east of Beverley.
The lake system is a vital part of the Wheatbelt environment. All water from the Lockhart and Yilgarn Catchments flow through into the Yenyening Lake system and then onto the Avon River.
The lakes have been a cherished spot for recreation to the locals for generations and is also a great spot for bird watching, keen star gazers and photographers.
The lakes are unfortunately not always full as generous rainfall is needed to fill them each year. They are an immense ecosystem providing habitats for an array of native flora and fauna, including breeding black swans, mountain ducks, minos, echidnas and kangaroos.
