Located 8km east of Bencubbin, named after Captain Marshall McDermott, who arrived in the Swan River colony in June 1831, the reserve is a combination of native bushland and saltwater lake system which is perfect for hiking and birdwatching. The lake is used for skiing, kayaking and paddle boarding when good rainfall is received and water levels permit these activities. It is recommended to contact Shire of Mt Marshall to check water levels.
