Granite Outcrops and Salt Lakes

County Peak

County Peak is 35 km East of Beverley and was given its name when the first surveyors drew up the original counties for the Swan River colony in 1829. From the peak seven shires can be viewed and historically was the intersection of counties York, Howick, Grantham and Minto.

The peak is also known as Mt Quajabin. Quajabin is derived from the Aboriginal word Quabin, which means ‘good camp’. No formal trail is in place for the hike to the top, so please be prepared with appropriate clothing and supplies.
